Ok, ok. I know what y'all are thinking. Muzzle that woman! Burn her at the stake! So, maybe you won't go that far. I have to tell Miles each time he says his now famous phrase that it's bad. But I wonder, what is so bad about saying "hell?" He could be using the "F" word (and yes, he has heard that one once or twice, thanks to me - again). I asked Joe since he's a theologian. He said it comes from a time when saying anything "devilish" was bad. Glad I didn't live back then. Geez. I'd probably would be burned at the stake. Yikes.
I don't think Miles is understanding me when I tell him it's a bad word. He just smiles but I think that's because I'm usually giggling or smiling when I scold him for saying it. I should probably work on my poker face.
I don't want to give the impression that I swear all the time. I'm not a sailor. Joe was but that's besides the point. I only swear when I drop something, stub my toe, clean up the apartment, pick up toys, and step on those little itty-bitty toys in the middle of the night. That's all, I think.
Yeah. What the hell, Marcy? Watch your language around here, will ya?

Yeah Marcy, watch that language, you know it's mothers that era to blame. Citing experience: First time I cursed in Portuguese was at the table, I dropped my fork. I swore. Tatiana immediately asked where I learned that, not realising the seriousness of what I had said, I pointed at Julio, then 9 years old and so innocent he could have been an angel, which was the truth. Tatiana then asked Julio where he had learned it. His response, from you Mãe. Tatiana said no more.

The other day Ethan said: "I want them to go away. I want them to go to hell." Of course, I was completely shocked! Then, I asked him where he heard that, and he said: "Nowhere, Mommy. I just made it up." My kid hasn't figured out how to lie very good yet, so I know he was telling the truth. He just was really mad and wanted to think of the worst place someone could go....and "away" wasn't very bad. He knows hell is a bad place, so that's where he wanted them to go. I told him that we don't say that! I guess maybe next time he says something shocking, I'll ask: "Did you hear Aunt Marcy say that?" :)

AV- Working on my language. Caitlynn knows not to repeat me but Miles hasn't learned yet.
